About
What we believe
Iglesia Maranatha is an Assemblies of God church. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We hold the Bible to be the inspired Word of God and our rule for faith and life. And we know and profess the heart of the gospel: Jesus saves, Jesus heals, Jesus baptizes in the Holy Spirit, and Jesus is coming again.

We confess that Jesus Christ is fully God, the eternal Son, born of a virgin, who lived a sinless life, died on the cross to atone for our sin, rose bodily from the dead, and now reigns in glory. By his death and resurrection, anyone who repents and believes is made new.
We are part of the Church, Christ's body in the world, and we practice believer's water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19), along with the Lord's Supper. Our full statement of faith is the Assemblies of God 16 Fundamental Truths, and the four cardinal doctrines below sit at the center of how we preach, teach, and reach.
Our four cardinal doctrines
Of the 16 Fundamental Truths, four are called cardinal doctrines because of their central place in reaching the lost and building up believers. They are the gospel we live by, summed up in one line our church has long professed: Jesus saves, heals, baptizes, and is coming again.
Salvation
Jesus saves
Salvation comes by grace through repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ. When a person turns from sin and trusts in him, God forgives, makes them a new creation, and gives them eternal life. This new birth is the work of the Holy Spirit, offered freely to everyone, no matter where they've come from or what they've done.
Baptism in the Holy Spirit
Jesus baptizes
After salvation, every believer is invited to receive the baptism in the Holy Spirit — the same promise the first disciples received at Pentecost. This experience empowers us for worship, witness, and service, and its initial physical evidence is speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. We expect and earnestly seek this gift from the Father.
Divine healing
Jesus heals
Healing for the body is provided in Christ's atonement and is the privilege of every believer. We pray for the sick in Jesus' name and trust God to heal, just as he did in Scripture and still does today. We hold this in faith and humility, knowing our hope rests fully in him.
The Second Coming
Jesus is coming again
Jesus Christ will return. We hold the blessed hope of his coming — the resurrection of those who have died in Christ and the gathering of all who belong to him. This certainty shapes how we live now: ready, watchful, and committed to sharing the gospel while there is time.

Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
